One of the most recognizable sights in Zurich is the famed Grossmunster Protestant Church. It was commissioned around 1100 by Charlemagne. The twin towers shine a glistening beacon over the Limmat River during any season. However, during the holidays the area seems to shine a little brighter. During my visit, I toured the unadorned style of this reformed church. The many stained glass windows are contemporary and brightly colored. However, the Nativity scene was one of the most intricately decorated I’ve seen. Well worth the visit. Then wonder across the bridge to the other side of the river, order a warm coffee drink at the Hotel Storchen. Sit on the fur lined stool, wrap a wool blanket around your shoulders, and enjoy your iconic Zurich view..
