Azienda Agricola Mandranova is a working olive oil farm located outside of Agrigento. They offer stays in their farmhouse and cook hearty farm to table meals. Mandranova produce a variety of olive oils and blends to use with distinct flavor profiles. A olive oil tasting is a fun way to try what they bottle. I tucked a few in my suitcase to take home to Miami. They also offer daily cooking classes using produce and herbs grown right outside the kitchen. In the heat of summer the pool once used for irrigation is a quiet spot to read or just soak in the beauty of the landscape. Meals are set up on the terrace outside the farmhouse. There is no set menu as guests are served what the kitchen has decided to prepare for the evening. We enjoyed homemade ricotta with bread crisps, fresh pasta, fish, and a luscious pear tart. It is easy to strike up a conversation while dining and exchange travel tips with fellow guests. The owners love the property and it shows to all who visit Azienda Agricola Mandranova.
